GPS Tracks App Reviews

Enjoyed using it on a nearly 4000 mile trip. But when I try to export the data it fails....

This app has a lot of features but I was surprised at how many bugs I ran into when exercising the basic functionality. When starting a new track, sometimes the first point would be from a location far from the start of the track. This seemed to occur if you started up the app, turned off the screen (like when you put it in your pocket), walked to the starting point and started a track, the first point would be where you originally fired up the app. Another problem was adding a track to your map wouldnt stick. You have to remove it, then add it back in to see the track on your main map. A third problem was that the app crashes frequently. Luckily, I never lost any data from the crashes. In summary, the developer seems to have covered a lot of features, but not worked out the bugs enough for this to be your go-to tracking app.

I agree with others that this app is quick, accurate and flexible. I am using it to geotag photos as well as to log hikes and walks. Very well done!

I use this ap all the time both on the road and while hiking in the mountains. Accuracy is good and it always gets me back home. More than worth the cost! After the hike and track is finished I email the kml file to myself and then open it in GoogleEarth. Shows the entire hike and it a great way to review the day!

Have you ever said I wish I could remember where that fantastic scenery, that great little restaurant in the middle of nowhere and you love touring the countryside on a bike or cage this is the best app that will allow you to mark that road not not taken. Youll never have to worry about it again. You can stop; Tracks will keep going in the background and pick up when you restart. Plenty of stats for those of you (you know who you are) like infinite data. Simply fantastic!

Ive been using this app on a daily basis for a few years and it works perfectly for me. The developer is super responsive when I have feedback and is always happy to help. You wont be disappointed.

Very good quality and plenty accurate. Functionality is top notch.

I use it for workouts and obviously to track my position. Always get accurate information that is easily accessible and storable. Sometimes its even more reliable than a military DAGR! The real-time pace and compass features are incredibly useful And you can choose between all accepted navigation formats (Lat/Long, MGRS, etc). Ive had it since 2007 and its the BEST that its ever been. Get this app!

Its beautiful ! Great Maybe sometimes is more useful than my GPS unit.

GPS Tracks is worth a look, if this sort of app interests you. I havent used the most recent version yet (updated just now), but this Dev hasnt failed me yet...thats how confident I am in this apps quality (to be fair, I will update my review if I experience something completely out character with this update and/or any subsequent comms with the Dev)...that said, I havent had a negative experience yet, and I do not expect to have one with this new update. Give GPS Tracks a go...you wont be disappointed.

Great app, but the latest update has big problem! App crashes!

This app has just about every feature you could ever wish for. My wish list for future updates would be to show a grid on the screen, especially a DMS. With a grid that goes down to one second, this would be just slightly over 100 feet per gridline and would be excellent for most outdoor activities using this app. As a coder myself, I know this wouldnt be difficult because all the data required is already in the existing app.

Probably the best GPS app for backcountry exploring. One aspect I was looking for in a GPS app was to be able to drop a waypoint to any location on a map, most of the other apps Ive used dont have the ability to do that but this app can do that. One really nice wish list item would be to have access to at least one topo map without having to upgrade.

This app is amazing. Works great for tracking train, airplane and road trips. I only wish that taking a photo would not stop the tracking. Otherwise its perfect.

Potentially great app but continuously shuts down please help

I have been looking for an easy to use app that would let me save tracks then download them and use them on Google Earth, etc. This is it. I recently used it on a trip that combined driving on the road followed by a few hours in a small aircraft. I turned the app on then let it run in the background. When I was done I saved the track and dowloaded it to view on Google Earth. Worked great. It shows travel metrics on a screen during the trip also. App developer is very responsive to questions. Overall a unique and welcom app!
